Fact
We are regulated by Manitoba authorities, environmental scientists, and engineers with independent research from respected institutions like Aecom, Stantec, the University of Manitoba & Indigenous oversight committees that review our work.

"Sio Silica is draining and destroying the aquifer."
Fact
Our process is designed to protect the aquifer - and the proof is in the science. Independent experts including AECOM and Stantec have reviewed our work. To date, we've drilled 75 test holes with no impact on water quality or quantity over the last 4 years.

"Sio Silica leaves permanent scars on the surface"
Fact
Our approach is different from traditional mining.
• No chemicals used in extraction
• No open pit mining
• No heavy truck traffic
All sites are fully reclaimed and restored returning to natural green space state.

"Sio Silica is fracking"
Fact
WE ARE NOT FRACKING. Our product is far too valuable to be used for fracking. We use an environmentally friendly extraction process that relies on air-lift pressure to gently lift the sand from the aquifer no chemicals, no blasting, no fracking.
Our silica sand is 100% dedicated to supporting the global energy transition, including use in semiconductors, solar panels, EV batteries, and other clean-technology applications.
